The rain may have put a slight damper on a downtown Christmas celebration in Gray, but organizers say the show will go on Saturday night.

Main Street Gray kicked off a series of events on Atlanta Road, Saturday.

Christmas elves provided activities for kids, such as face painting and balloon animals.

Downtown shops provided discounts for customers.

Main Street Gray Manager, Jennifer Baggarly, says the band "Free Lance Ruckus" will perform Christmas songs and original work Saturday night.

Baggarly says community events support plans to revitalize downtown Gray.

"That's where it all starts. So, whatever we can do to get that ball rolling... before the development comes, we can always get the people here through events," said Baggarly.

Baggarly says the concert will take place inside the W.E. Knox Civic Center Auditorium, Saturday, December 14 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
