Daylily Explosion by the Tracks in Downtown Gray!
Daylily Explosion by the Tracks in Downtown Gray!

The Daylily Festival last weekend in Gray was fantastic! The water slide was probably the hit of the weekend, although lots of parents probably wished they could slide down it, instead of just watching the kids. Great job by all the Better Hometown Board members, including manager Heather Busby, plus all the volunteers and city/county employees.

If you didn’t make it to the festival, please drive through downtown Gray and circle through several times to take in all the flowers. In the past few days, the daylily beds along the railroad tracks have exploded into bloom! There are thousands of  blooms, plus the crepe myrtle trees are incredible.

The Master Gardeners in Gray/Jones County do a fantastic job of keeping the beds looking good, but the flowers are especially beautiful this year. Many, if not all, the Master Gardeners are members of  Gray/Jones County Garden Club . If you remember, the Gray/Jones County Garden Club just won first place as garden club of the year for all of Georgia!

Ride through Gray and take a look at the flowers along the railroad tracks and also all the flowers in front of the stores along the tracks. While you’re in the neighborhood,  get a good book from the bookstore, eat a nice lunch at Treasures Cafe and pick up a unique gift from Carriage House Antiques & Gifts! A perfect ride this Saturday! See you soon!
