10th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade

The 10th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. and will begin at Ingle's Market in Gray and travel north on W. Clinton, turn right on Railroad St., and end at Gordon St.

The parade them this year is "A Star-Spangled Banner Christmas" to celebrate Pearl Harbor Day along with Christmas.

The parade is sponsored by the Gray Jaycees.

Chamber Hosts 3rd Annual Business Expo and Taste of Jones

The Jones County/Gray Chamber of Commerce hosted its 3rd Annual Business Expo and Taste of Jones on Thursday, Nov. 18 at the Altman Scouting Center in Jones County.  

The event was in conjunction with the Chamber's normally scheduled Business After Hours and featured 32 businesses showcasing their businesses and 4 restaurants/caterers offering samples from their menus. 

Over 200 people from the community attended the event and featured free food, giveaways and door prizes. 

The Chamber plans to make this an annual event that is free for the community to enjoy and for the businesses to gain exposure.

2nd Annual Central Georgia Regional Health Summit

Community Health Works (CHW) will be holding the 2nd Annual Central Georgia Regional Health Summit on Nov. 9 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds (Miller-Murphy-Howard Building) in Perry, GA. Register at www.cgrhs.org. This is an all-day event, beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m.

In October of 2009, CHW convened more than 100 community leaders representing the top minds in health care and health policy, local government, local school districts, faith-based and civic organizations from across 7 counties in central Georgia (Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach, and Twiggs). 

The purpose of the summit is to discuss the impact that unhealthy behaviors have on our community with a primary focus on the prevalence of obesity and related chronic diseases, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
