Smoke Could be from Wednesday Controlled Burn | Environment

If you are smelling smoke in Bibb County, it may be from a controlled burn that is still on fire.

According to the Georgia Forestry Commission...there were permits issued in Jones County for controlled burns yesterday and that is the likely cause of the smoke. 

The burn occurred on Highway 18 west at upper river road and a separate burn on stage coach road.

There are no burn permits issued for today.
