Two dead in Jones, Baldwin fatal accidents

Two people died in separate fatal accidents in Jones and Baldwin counties this morning.

Both accidents happened on Georgia Highway 22, several miles apart.

The Jones County wreck happened around 11:10 a.m. Monday on Highway 22, about two miles north of Gray.

The Jones County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Mary L. Cramer of Haddock. They say she was headed west toward Gray, but made a U-turn to turn around and was struck by a pickup truck.

Highway 22 has reopened after the accident as of 1:10 p.m., according to the Jones County Sheriff's Office.

The other accident happened on Highway 22 east of Milledgeville, near Stembridge Road.

That accident involved a logging truck, and the Georgia State Patrol says the highway may be blocked for several hours.
