Community Health Works has been meeting quarterly to discuss the region and county's most pressing health issues as they relate to healthy lifestyle choices, community infrastructure, and local policies. This county-specific work is part of a region-wide, multi-year initiative: the Central Georgia Regional Health Summit. Community participants in Jones County "action planning meetings", which are free and open to the public, include a growing group of concerned community members and local leaders who represent a variety of industries and areas of expertise: healthcare, the K-12 public school system, grassroots advocacy groups, community gardening initiatives and farmers' markets, the business community and Chamber of Commerce, City and County officials, universities and colleges, and more.
