EMAs: Avoid River Until Water Level Recedes
Central Georgia EMA directors warn that people should avoid the rivers for recreation until the water levels fall.
In a joint news release, Monroe, Bibb, Jones, Butts and Jasper County EMA directors agreed that people need to "err on the side of caution and not get into the local rivers until they have receded."
"Dangers lie under these fast moving waters and if experience has taught us anything, it's that Mother Nature while majestic at times, will be unforgiving," according to the release.
