A benefit for the Georgia Special Olympics, The Geico 5K Road Race, is set for Saturday, March 3rd. 

The fun starts at 9 a.m.

How to Become a Gray Firefighter Next Meeting

The City of Gray Fire Department's next training meeting will be on Monday, December 19th at 7 p.m.

That's according to the City of Gray Fire Department's Facebook page.

Also, there will be a Firefighter 1 Class beginning on Tuesday, January 2nd.

Operation Christmas Child: Gray Drop-off Point

GRAY, GA.--Drop off your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes from November 14-21 at Elam Baptist Church. 

This year-round project of Samaritan’s Purse is coming to its peak, as local businesses, churches and schools prepare to collect gift-filled shoe boxes during National Collection Week, Nov. 14-21. Volunteers can drop off their shoe box gifts at one of four bustling locations in the area to help kids in 100 countries know they are loved and not forgotten.

Elaine Barfield, the volunteer who coordinates collection efforts in Byron, can be reached for questions or additional information at 478-956-2825.

Elam Baptist Church is located at 203 Elam Church Road in Gray.

Coats and Thanksgiving Basket Drive

JACOR is hosting a coat drive for kids and a Thanksgiving Basket drive to help those in need.

If you know a family that would benefit from our Coats for Kids and/or Thanksgiving Basket drive, please call JACOR at 932-8317 or email us at jacorfoundation@yahoo.com by November 11.

The plan is to distribute the coats and thanksgiving baskets on November 19 at JACOR. That's at 150 Etheridge Rd. in Haddock.
