Voting is on May 20.

SPLOST Question

Shall a special one percent sales and use tax be imposed in Jones County for a period of time not to exceed six years for the raising of an estimated amount of $12,000,000 for the purpose of funding the following capital outlay projects within Jones County: (i) for Jones County:  buildings, including the tax office; sheriff's vehicles; animal control facility; library; golf course; industrial park debt; EMA; public works; water; industrial park sewer; and parks and recreation; and (ii) for the City of Gray: water and sewer improvements; police department vehicles; street improvements; fire department equipment, vehicles, and facilities; and public works vehicles/equipment?

If imposition of the tax is approved by the voters, such vote shall also constitute approval of the issuance of general obligation debt of Jones County in a principal amount not to exceed $4,000,000 for the above described capital outlay projects of Jones County, including capitalized interest, and the issuance  of general obligation debt of the City of Gray in a principal amount not to exceed $1,500,000 for the above described capital outlay projects of the City of Gray, including capitalized interest.
