New Cell Tower Comes to Gray

You may or may notnotice a stronger cell signal in Gray.

That's thanks to AT&T's new cell tower on Eatonton Highway, according to a release.

It's all a part of the company's "efforts to drive innovation and extend its mobile Internet network."

Daylily Festival Promises Family Fun This Weekend

The Annual Daylily Festival is set for June 7 and 8 at the pecan orchard adjacent to Gray Elementary School from 5-9 p.m.

New to the festival this year is a mobile video game unit where kids young and old can play video games inside an air-conditioned trailer.

Friday night Free Lance Ruckus and The Fresh Heat Band perform!

Events will include the Daylily Dash & 5K, car show and other entertainment.

Admission is $1.

Metro Macon Gained 500 Jobs in February

Metro Macon Gained 500 Jobs in February

The Georgia Department of Labor says  February unemployment declined to nine percent in metro Macon.

According to a release, that's down from February 2012, when unemployment for metro Macon was 10 percent.

From January to February, metro Macon gained 500 jobs and fewer people were laid off.

Most jobs were added in the professional, business, education, health care, trade, transportation, warehousing, leisure and hospitality industries as well as in in local government.

Metro Macon includes Bibb, Crawford, Jones, Monroe and Twiggs counties.
