I had been to Juliette a 100 times, but i just didn't know they had an Opry there. About a year and half ago I discovered it.
I have been playing bluegrass about two years and somebody said, "Ever go up to the Juliette Opry?"
"No, didn't know they had one," and probably neither did you!
Juliette Opry is located in downtown Juliette on Mccrackin street, just a stroll up from the Whistle Stop Cafe ,about 8 miles east of Forsyth and about 20 minutes north of Macon, and is open the first saturday of most months , with local pickers gathering up on the porch around 6-630(we're pretty informal) playing their favorite music. From the Allman Brothers to Bill Monroe, no telling what you can hear. Guitars , Dobros, Mandolins, the Upright Bass , good harmonies or sometimes just shut up and play. Around 8 p.m. a visiting group takes the stage for about an hour. Refreshment are available for purchase and we are a family-friendly environment.
