Georgia no-hitter in 11-0 victory over Andrews SC

  Three pitchers joined forces to throw a no-hitter for Hounds in an 11-0 victory in three innings over Andrews SC on Friday at Georgetown SC World Series. Mayson Watford, Logan Faulk, and Lucy Tuggle rounded out their sterling stat line with eight strikeouts and six walks. Watford had an impressive outing against Andrews SC's lineup. Watford held Andrews SC hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three. The offense exploded for the Georgia in the first. In the first inning Georgia scored 10 runs. Georgia advances in the Dixie youth play-off to face Alabama on July 29th at 1pm. be sure to listen live at www.Jockjive.com. (July 28, 2012)   

Georgia uses big second inning to beat Alabama, 17-0

Georgia beat Alabama 17-0 in three innings on Sunday at World Series after a 10-run explosion in the second inning. Sheffield started out the inning with a walk scoring Logan Faulk for the first run on the scoreboard. Lucy Tuggle racked up 6 RBIs and one hit for Georgia. She homered in the first inning on hit that went down the third baseline. Georgia never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring eight of their runs on an RBI double by Haley Owens, a home run by Tuggle, a 2 RBI triple by MacKenzie Long, and a RBI double by Lauren Grace Carr.  Still in the winner’s bracket, Georgia will go head to head with North Carolina on July 30, at 8pm.  (July 29, 2012)

Georgia outhits North Carolina in 6-5 defeat

Georgia lost 6-5 in five innings at World Series on Monday, despite outhitting North Carolina eight to seven. Georgia was led by Lucy Tuggle's hitting. Tuggle went 2-2 and drove in one. She doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.  In the top of the first, Georgia grabbed the early lead, 2-0. Georgia got things going when Brooke Sheffield hit a fielder choice scoring a run. Tuggle doubled, bringing home Mayson Watford. Georgia pushed more runs across when Sheffield scored on an overthrown ball to third base.  North Carolina quickly matched Georgia’s' strong inning with a three-run inning of its own in the second. North Carolina scored on an RBI double by Jayana Nicholson, an error by third baseman, and a groundout by Carley Lambeth.  Georgia will have to battle back from the losers bracket against Louisiana at 6pm August 1st. be sure to listen live at www.
